Media Relations & Crisis Management Training
Ann Green Communications’ Media Relations and Crisis Communications Training will provide your key spokespersons with the tools, techniques and confidence they need to deal effectively with the news media. We will instruct your spokespersons in how to develop and maintain positive relationships that will not only work to your company’s advantage, but also help you to generate positive news coverage. We will prepare you for knowing when and how to address the media, what to say, and how to field the tough questions while also conveying your company’s key messages.

 


Secondary Spokesperson Training
In addition to preparing the primary spokespersons for interacting with the media, Ann Green Communications also believes in preparing personnel who often are required to make fast decisions during an emergency. Since it is not uncommon for a crisis to occur at an inopportune time, such as late at night or during weekends, shift supervisors and security guards must know how to control the media and provide limited information until the spokesperson arrives. It often takes time to build credibility in a community but only one accident to lose it if the community is not informed.

 


Executive Training
In order to meet the needs of corporate executives who frequently make public speeches and presentations or have to address the questions and concerns of both the media and the public, Ann Green Communications’ individualized Executive Training Program will provide you with the tools, techniques and confidence for dealing effectively with the news media and other key audiences.

The one-and-a-half day program emphasizes effective communications with key stakeholders such as your neighbors, local government officials, and your employees. We also will instruct you in cultivating relationships with the media that will work to your advantage and generate positive news coverage for your company.

 


Presentation Training
Because a company’s official spokesperson is not its only advocate, Ann Green Communications’ professionals offer Presentation Training for all company employees who may be called to address civic organizations and to convey important operations information. Employees need to have the necessary skills to give effective and meaningful presentations to a variety of audiences, including subordinates, peers and management.

Ann Green Communications’ presentation training teaches participants how to prepare manuscripts, to sharpen communication skills and to effectively use presentations to build company relationships within the community. This class also is an excellent addition to your employee/management development program.

 


Handling Complaints Training
Handling complaints from stakeholders - especially neighbors - can be difficult, particularly when the person complaining is upset. Ann Green Communications’ customized training for Handling Complaints will provide you and your employees with the needed skills to make each encounter a win-win opportunity. We have trained security guards, receptionists, customer service personnel and workers at facilities who must respond to complaints when stakeholders or neighbors are upset. Participants will learn how to put themselves in the position of the complainant, deal with difficult individuals, improve their listening skills, understand the results of unresolved complaints, and demonstrate integrity through accountability. We provide a simple and highly effective process for quickly calming the complaint and resolving the conflict.

 


Risk Communications Training
Another key communications component, especially during these uncertain times, is the ability to effectively communicate risk and build credibility with various audiences and stakeholders. Ann Green Communications’ customized workshop Risk Communication and Effective Community Interaction will prepare you and your management team to share difficult and potentially highly charged information with positive results. We will assist you in developing and targeting messages to your stakeholders, and building meaningful relationships with your community. Our instructors will help your company learn how to effectively communicate with the public in gaining public support for necessary operating permits before, during or following an unfortunate incident.

 


Site Remediation for Workers
The public’s interest regarding Superfund and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) sites can range from curiosity to fear and even danger. Handled improperly, public displays of concern may escalate and stop work until issues are resolved.
How site workers can be prepared to handle situations outside the technical aspect of the work is the focus of this training. Ann Green Communications’ professionals teach participants to work in a manner that controls the situation and allows work on the sites to continue.
